Ronaldo admitted he works very hard and that his fitness coach at Real Madrid, Antonio Pintus, acknowledging this, described him as a “real psycho.”
The Portugal captain is known for having high appetite for gym work.
He told France Football, “The fitness coach at Real, Antonio Pintus, jokes that I’m a real psycho.
“He’s never seen someone like me, in terms of the volume of work I do. When I get into the weights room I don’t speak to anyone. I’m only concentrated on the job I have to do.
“I know I put myself under additional pressure but I don’t regret being like that. Maybe it’s good to be a little more relaxed, but this is my ethic for my life.
“I’m not going to change after 15 years of my career. I wouldn’t have won everything if I had not been so insatiable.”
Ronaldo won his fifth Ballon d’Or on Thursday, drawing him level with great rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona.
