Review:
First of all I will like to say the movie deserve an award for its authenticity. The storyline is one of such that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It is well scripted, and there wouldn’t have been better actors to play the characters than the ones in it.The way they ended the part1 of the movie will make you anxious to see the next part.
At the point where Torera’s mother brought her guards to take her daughter home from her husband’s house kept me on the edge of my seat because I thought there will be a big fight. Even though she has bruises from her husband’s maltreatment, Torera refused to tell her mother what was going on.
I like the fact that the story did not end with Torera moving back to her parents house. Even though
she suffered so much in her matrimonial home, she refused to follow the advice of her friend, who insisted she should move back to her father’s house and stop being a slave. Each scenes from the movie will keep you yearning to see what will happen next.
Another suspense scene was when Gbolagade brought in a new wife; I thought Torera would move out in annoyance, but she did not. She decided to stay because she married her husband out of love and nothing else matters.
She later confided in her friend (Bukky Raji) and told her about how her love for Gbolagade was real and how she bequethed all her properties to him, without knowing that his love for her was fake and deceitful. And how she made up her mind to let God be the judge (was he punished at the end of the day? find out in the movie).
Somewhere towards the end of the movie, I thought Torera and the new wife, Adepate will beat up Torera when she dashed into her room to wake her up from sleep not knowing that she already gave up the ghost… (SAY NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) Y’all should see the movie for more details
My overall score for the movie is 90%. It was worth my time and money. I will recommend it to anyone anyday. Kudos to Faithia Balogun and the crew.
