Diary Of A Blogger: Who Is A Friend? (Part 1)

A friend is someone who share our laughter and tears, our triumphs and tragedies. More than anything, good friends are there when we need them.

Friendship goes hand in hand with making those little sacrifices (responsibility) without being one sided.

Friendship is a give and take, not a take, take and take (some people can take for Africa, chai)

Sorry I have been missing in action for a while… (life of an ambitious lady *sigh* wait a minute…. am I really ambitious?) *shrugs*

Well back to my topic of the day… WHO IS A FRIEND? (part 1)

Most of us have different definitions of who a friend really is, it’s either we see it from a good angle or a bad angle, it all depends on how we were treated by those we call friends.

If you ask me, I will say, a friend is a sister or brother from another mother, or I could also say, a friend is an ANGEL who guide us even in our absence.

Hardly will you see someone who haven’t had one or two bad experiences with friends. Some people have stopped having friends because they’ve been disappointed by the few ones they trusted (ask me); but that shouldn’t stop us from being friendly or having friends.

Some friends could be your basic source of happiness, while some could be the reason why you want the world to end suddenly *it’s not worth it*. Some will even go as far as lying against you just to turn the whole world against you (as if that will make their lives better).

Friends…. hmmm. I have had my fair share of the good and the bad ones though, and I have learnt my lessons, but that doesn’t stop me from making new friends everyday (especially being a blogger and a radio show host).

One of my experiences with a good friend was when I lost my mum two years ago. This particular friend of mine would call me everyday (she couldn’t visit cos she lives in another State) just to make sure I was doing fine. She will call me early in the morning to make sure I have eaten, and if I told her I haven’t, she would threaten to book the next flight to my city in order to come and feed me *smh*. There was a particular day she didn’t hear from me (I was still grieving my mum’s death) because I didn’t pick up my calls. She got so worried that she left so many pleading voicemails on my phone (begging me not to hurt myself). She heaved a sigh of relief when I finally gathered the strength to return her calls (all hell was let loose). She tongue lashed me so much (her mouth is sharp too) but she later calmed down to hear my explanation *lol*. She is one of those friends who is far away from me, yet so near. We’ve had our fights and argument (we still fight though), yet we are like sisters. Thanks Abimbola Toyyibah Kasunmu (Atlanta Georgia). You are one in a million *Abeg no let your head swell too much o, I go carry stick come nack am… lol*

I remember the day we quarelled for the first time and we both called each other to apologise…with tears in my eyes…. To be continued (keep refreshing this page to read more about WHO IS A FRIEND?)
