My name is Seyi Voice, a songwriter, music producer, a man full of passion and erm…(thinking) the handwriting of God. *rolls eye*
How come you didn’t say anything about being a singer?
Because I know you will ask me about that aspect of Seyi eventually. *laughing*
Is Voice your last name or stage name?
Fortunately because I sing, most people think it’s my stage name but it’s actually my last name.
Aside music what else do you do?
Oh well, aside music am a motivational speaker because I believe God created me to be at the front.
Can you tell us your background in music, and at what stage did you think of doing it professionally?
As a young child I remember listening to fuji and the music of Mc Hammer. I told my mum one day that I wanted to sing fuji and she said, “My child will never sing fuji; you can find a better music genre to emulate but definitely not fuji”. Along the line, I met Pastor Soji Israel who came to perform at our family church in Ibadan, and I was really impressed at how well he led the choir ministration. There and then, I decided to do gospel music instead of fuji. I also remember meeting Sammy Okposo at a music concert in Muson Centre Lagos, and he said to me after a prayer session “You can be what you want to be, but just create your own world and God will breathe on it for you.” I am still holding on to that word till today.
Does that mean Music was a natural thing to you
Yeah, it’s a natural gift.
Can you tell us your educational background?
I read Mass Communication at the prestigious Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Ogun State.
I know you host “Dateline Lagos” on roots radio, can you tell us what the program is all about?
Dateline Lagos with Seyi and Friends is a platform where we promote and showcase different talent to the entire world via comedy, music etc. We also have top 10 music segment, where people can call in to contribute and take a guess on the songs on the playlist.

How do you combine being a singer, songwriter, producer, and a radio talk show host?
(smiles) it’s all about time management. Although it’s not been easy but the grace of God is sufficient.
what time can people catch you on your radio show and what station?
People can catch me live every Tuesday at 2pm Naija time/ 9am EST (New York time), on www.rootsradiolove.com (It’s an internet radio with main studio in Washington DC USA)
If you are not a musician, what will you be doing?
I would have been a lawyer, because I hate injustice.
Who is your source of inspiration?
(The list is a bit long o) *Smiles* Sammy Okposo, pastor Shirley Caesar, pastor Soji Israel, Gbenga Owoeye Wise and Flo Rocka.
Have you done any collaboration with any of them or any artist for that matter?
I’m planning to do one with Flo Rocka and Pastor Soji Israel when he gets back from the States. So people should watch out for them.
Do you have any album out there at the moment?
No, but my album is coming out before the year runs out. The production is set, but am waiting on God’s timing to release the album.
What is the name of the album?
Sound of victory.

Yes, I released King of Kings and Sound of victory.
