When I saw this picture, my mind went back to the first time I plaited my hair as a young girl. Seriously, this is one of the best ways to grow out your natural hair. Ask an African for proof.
Even though I dreaded the hair style (plaiting with wool) as a young child, but I was able to rock my long black hair while in high school (they are all gone though) *no thanks to the change of weather, rolls eye*
