Read My Exclusive Twinterview With Wow9ija Blog

Hehehehe I am feeling like a celeb at the moment, don’t blame me (got interviewed by three diff blogs in one month).

I was opportuned to be interviewed by the young talented writer, blogger, former LTV 8, and Eko FM presenter (she is still an on air personality though), Olubunmi Babs.

Read the excerpt from my interview below….

Moving on! The young professional I’m presenting to you today is a female of course *sips coke*, lives in Dallas, Texas, she’s an actress, a blogger, radio show host, event compere, and many more (they say that a lot in yoruba movie adverts, right? Dude goes, “Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Dele Odule, Funke Tanimola, ‘en meni mo!'” Lmao!)

Anyways, she doesn’t need much introduction, you’ve most likely seen her in a couple of yoruba movies, especially if you live in the US or UK, you probably have stumbled on her radio show at some point or the other, and if not, you definitely have seen her blog somewhere.

Welcoming us back to a wonderful World Of Wonders with some Texas love, *drum rolls* I present to you Olufunke Mercy Tanimola: actress, blogger, On Air Personality, and *in Jesse Jesse Eisenberg’s voice* Sexxie lady…

Enjoy!
How long have you lived in the US?
Four years and still counting.

So what has the experience been like…is it everything you wished for?
Things are not always rosy on the side but still I thank God for his Mercies.

Erm…what made you decide to leave Nigeria in the first place?
Hmm…seriously, I didn’t just pack my bags and leave. I was actually preparing for my first semester exams as a first year Theatre Arts student at the University of Benin, Edo State when I won the American Visa lottery.

What was the first thing you felt when you won that visa lottery?
I was so happy.

Okay, let’s talk about you, who is Mercyflawless?
My full name is Olufunke Mercy Tanimola, a happy go lucky girl (laughs), pace-setter.

Alright Mercy, down to business…I know you’re a blogger, what do you blog about?
I blog about everything that catches my attention.  I blog about events both in the USA and the world as a whole, I do lots of entertainment and fashion gists too.

And asides blogging?
I’m a radio talk show host, event host, voice over artiste,  an actress, and a business personnel.

How’s the broadcasting industry there compared to what we have here?
It’s almost the same. The major difference is in professionalism. Here, you must be a trained broadcaster, trained in all the appropriate schools and what have you before they even put you out there cos they have to be sure you know what you’re doing. And until you’re considered a pro, you’ll be under constant supervision, never left on your own. Back home a banking and finance graduate can suddenly become a broadcaster as far as you can speak English and face the camera or work the mic (and most of them are good, I must say), but that does not happen here. Appropriate training means a lot to them here.

So do you think it’s better to work there or here?
Whether here or there it depends on the individual and what you hope to achieve. Some people are making good money here in the States and some are making good money back in Nigeria too.
