Adepero Oduye is a Nigerian-American actress who starred in “12 Years A slave” alongside Lupita Nyong’o and Chiwetel Ejiofor. I remember seeing her on stage when Steve McQueen went to receive the Award with the rest of the cast and crew at the 2014 Oscars.

The 37 year old actress is one of seven children born to Nigerian parents in Brooklyn Newyork. She studied acting at Cornell University Newyork.
Many people know her from her role in Pariah as Alike (2011). She has received several awards, including a nomination for Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.
