As stakeholders in Nollywood calls for production of Igbo language indigenous movies. One of the film makers in the east known for production of quality and entertaining movies has added another feather to his cap with the making of the movie titled Primitive. NKECHI CHIMA of Sun News caught up with the brothers in Asaba, Delta State on set of the flick.
According to the director of the latest indigenous Igbo language epic movie translated in English, which is yet to be released into the market, Iyke Odife and producers of the much awaiting flick titled Primitive Iyke Odife and Emmanuel Odife who spoke with us about the movie.
“It’s about the era when Nigeria was in the state of nature, a white man was sent by a colonial master to establish a government in a town called Abame in the eastern part of Nigeria before amalgamation. Eloka who is a wife’s beater in Abame has no one to stop him, his wife Enuma has no one to run to, igwebuike who change his name to Jerome, when he received christ, does not want to have anything to do with the community been the Ojiani,
the head of d clen, he was angry with the tradition. Because he had 7 sets of twins, but all were killed because of tradition. And Ndudi was a wealthy son of the land, he told Eloka to stop beating Enum the Wife , if not he will not get seed yam from him in the next farming season”
The movie stars Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Nnenna Nwabueze-Okonta aka Merit of Living in Bondage, Amaka Anita Okeke, Diamond Okechi, Gloria Okafor, Chioma Nwadike among others. See more location pics below…
