Ebola Free: Amber Vinson Released From Emory University Hospital

The second Texas nurse (Amber Vinson) who contracted the Ebola virus while taking care of Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian man who was the first patient diagnosed with the deadly virus in the United States is now Ebola free.

The happy nurse attended a press conference at Emory University Hospital after she was declared Ebola-free on Tuesday October 28, 2014.

Instead of answering questions at the press conference, she read a statement thanking God, her family, and her doctors.

Vinson thanked everyone who helped save her from Ebola amid tears

She also used the opportunity to appeal for privacy as she returned home to Texas, and she asked “that we not lose focus on thousand of families who labor under the burden of this disease in West Africa.”

Amber Vinson is the fourth Ebola patient dischared from the hospital. First was Dr. Kent Brantly, second was Nancy Writebol, third was Nina Pham (the first Texas nurse that contracted the virus while taking care of Thomas Eric Duncan at the Texas Presbyterian Hospital).

Am happy for her too. Thank God!
