Obaseki Extends Return Date For Escaped Prisoners

The Edo state government has issued out a one week ultimatum for inmates of the Benin correctional centers to return back.

This decision was reached at a meeting attended by the governor, Godwin Obaseki and other heads of security agencies.
According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communications, Mr Crusoe Osagie, the need for the extension of the deadline was as a result of the positive response from the prisoners.
Osagie also assured Obaseki was committed to security of lives and property of Edo residents.
