The first underwater hotel room in Africa is located at the Manta Resort, on the Zanzibari island of Pemba.
The hotel room is the second of its kind in the world. It was erected by Swedish artist Mikael Genberg, the same person who erected the first underwater hotel room in a lake in Sweden.
The invention is 4-meters beneath the surface. The three-tiered suites includes a roof deck, a landing deck at sea level with a lounge and bathroom, and the underwater bedroom. The bedroom windows afford nearly 360-degree view of of a nearby coral reef and dozens of species of fish.
A luxurious room costs $900 per night as a single or $1,500 per night as a couple.
Guests can sunbathe on the bed of the roof deck.

The windows are under-lit to offer a good view of the ocean at all times.
At night the lights show off the fish inhabitants.
