U.S officials confirmed to ABC News that , armed pirates stormed a U.S flagged ship off the coast of Nigeria on Wednesday October 23, separated all the crew by nationality and kidnapped just the American Captain and Chief Engineer.

According to the FBI in New York and a Defense Department official that deals with Africa cases, they confirmed that, the men are now on land.
A U.S government official confirmed that the case is being treated as a potential-kidnapping-for-ransom, not a politically motivated act.
The kidnapping was first reported by a maritime industry news website called gCaptain.com
It was reported that, the Americans were kidnapped off the U.S flagged C-Retriever, a 222-foot vessel owned by U.S marine transport group Edison Chouest offshore that is an oil supply vessel.
The State Department said that as of now, there is no indication that the attack was an act of terrorism.
