The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has confirmed that the House is currently in a closed door session with the organised labour over the proposed strike scheduled to start tomorrow.
The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress are currently involved in a crisis with the Federal Government over the recent hike in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff.
According to Gbajabiamila, “We, in the House of Representatives, are on the same page with you.”
Gbajabiamila, however, warned against the dire consequences of shutting down the government at this time, urging the workers to suspend the planned action.
