If you are a fan of Mercyflawless from way back since Mercyflawlessblog.com, you know we love featuring upcoming talents on our platform. Today is one of those days that we deem it fit to start a column dedicated to only shinning stars on this our new site.

Our first feature is a fast rising actress who recently played the role of an upright police officer who took it upon herself to fish out the people terrorizing her community. Unknown to her, the answer she was looking for, was right in her pocket all along. E-meet Nancy Omobolanle Tonade a.k.a OFFICER ADAEZE, a native of Yewa in Ogun State.
Nancy, Could you please tell us a bit about your background?
I am the seventh of eleven siblings, I was born and raised in Lagos state, I had my primary and secondary education in Lagos state, I proceeded to study Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic for my OND, and Lagos State Polytechnic for my HND.
How did you venture into acting?
My school mate and friend, Segun Awobajo mentioned my name to a producer in Sagamu after I played the lead character in one of my school projects. When I got to the movie location, I met with Segun Ogungbe who later became my boss. And because I was based in Abeokuta at the time, I joined the Igi Aloye Caucus by being a trainee under SEGOF(Segun Ogungbe Films production) before I later left Abeokuta for Lagos.
Can you name the movies you have acted in , and which one of them is the most challenging for you?
The first movie I featured in was IJIMERE produced by Yemi Abidoye, subsequently I featured in many others like OLUSHOLA, AWOKO ALIYAH, IBAJEDEWA, TIBI TIRE, JENIFA’S DIARY, SHELTER NEST, OUR APARTMENT, LOST AND FOUND, MADE FOR ME, CAMPUS TALE, AWAWI, and a host of others, and of course my first ever lead role movie OFFICER ADAEZE produced by Mercyflawless Media.
Playing the lead role in Officer Adaeze, was it challenging, and how did you embrace your character?
Playing the lead in Officer Adaeze wasn’t much of a challenge for me because the ADAEZE character is more or less me acting myself. I am naturally a strict, yet compassionate person. I care about the well being of others but I don’t condone indiscipline. if I ever warned you about anything, and it later boomerang, you will face the consequences regardless of what relationship we share. So, playing ADAEZE in the story wasn’t much of a challenge for me.

If the event in the movie Officer Adaeze happens to you in real life, would you handle it the same way you did in the movie?
YES. I will do so without looking back. My siblings know that I have coconut head *lol* I am sure that when they saw the movie they swore that “Mobola can do this for real.” I cannot cover up evil for anybody, if you know it is not good and you go ahead to do it, it means you have made up your mind to face the consequences.
As an actress, which role will you not be caught playing?
None. I am only wondering how I would look trying to recite incantations like actress Abeni Agbon in movies. The way she goes back and forth with the big Yoruba incantations.. I don’t think I have the charisma for that role. *lol*
Did your folks give you their full support when you told them you wanted to become an actress? Or did they object to it?
If my father was not in support of me acting, I would have quit it a long time ago, but prior to his death, he was the one telling everybody that “Bolanle is into acting now.” And he told me to always tell him the title of any movie I featured in, so that he could buy it back then. So, yes. My folks supported me.

Do you have a dream of becoming a producer or it is acting only?
I have plans to become a producer in the nearest future. God willing.
How would you handle being on set with an actor you don’t get along with, will you work with them or ditch the job?
Me I am Water, I no get enemy. I am very professional at my job oo. No matter what, I will do my job and breeze out quietly.
Aside acting, are there other things you are doing?
Yes, I am into tailoring and I am working on other things too.
Who are your mentors in the industry? And why did you choose them?
Funke Akindele and Iyabo Ojo; their strong personality, resilience, selflessness and how they don’t look for nobody’s Validation is the reason why. They do only what they believe in.
As an upcoming actor, what are the challenges you are facing in the industry?
Getting visibility in the industry where there are a lot of people and talents. It is a big challenge.
What is your selling point?
My ability to become the character I am playing spontaneously.
Any words of encouragement for people that are aspiring to be actors, and your fans too?
For those aspiring to be actors, believe in yourself, keep positioning yourself where you can be seen, and remember, if you Believe it, you can achieve it. And for my growing fans, all I need is your love and support. I promise to make you all proud.
