Happy Weekend to you all Mercyflawless Media readers, I hope your week was great. As we step into yet another lovely weekend, I bring you one of Naija’s amazing talents to watch out for in the movie industry.
Ibraheem Lateef Adebayo is a Nigerian upcoming actor who enjoys reenacting trending movies for fun online. The Osun State born thespian who graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, recently had a quick chat with Mercyflawless Media Blog.

How did you start your acting journey, did you train under anyone?
It all started in 2020 during Covid19 pandemic lock down; my folks told me to go and find something to do instead of being idle at home. This prompted me to start reenacting roles from trending movies, and I went from being a random internet mimicker to a real time actor and filmmaker.
Since you started, how many movies have you acted in, and which one is the most challenging?
I acted in Dejavu, a cinema and Netflix movie, I also took part in the likes of Lisabi the revolt, Okoto the series, Wura on Showmax, and many others. I’ll consider Boda Lasisi character in Dejavu a very challenging one. One of the requirements of the role was for me to act the age that’s far older than my real age.

Which role will you not be caught playing?
I don’t think there’s any role I will not want to act, as far as it’s going to showcase my talent and professionalism.
Aside acting, what else do you do in your spare time?
I am a writer, a poet and an historian.
Do you have a mentor in the movie industry since you started?
I do not have any mentor because I’m a product of self-training, and acting is inbuilt for me. However, I have so many role models among contemporary and veteran thespians, who are constant source of inspiration to me. And there’s always something to gain by understudying them.
We see that you have carved a niche for yourself by reenacting trending movies, what motivated you and how do you feel doing this?
Well, I was told by those who have been there to have my own selling point to navigate and I decided to do something usual in a different way. Hence, the reason why they call me ‘Reenactment king.”
If you find yourself on set with an actor you don’t relate with, will you work with the person or abandon the movie set?
I can work with anybody as long as the environment is not toxic or intimidating to my personality.
As a young upcoming actor what are the challenges you are facing in the industry?
So many. I’ve seen more than enough challenges, but it’s too early to tell stories when the success is not here yet.
What is your selling point as an actor?
One of the key things that stands for me as a selling point is the intentionality that I use in approaching all productions that comes my way; I see all productions or film sets as mine too. I personalize the works I’m involved in, and by doing so, it makes me give a performance that align with the initial goal and vision of the producer without losing my originality of being a good actor. The way the producer doesn’t want his or her productions to flop is the same way I also don’t want it to flop. I do a lot of research, and mirror rehearsals before I go on any movie set.

Any words of encouragement for aspiring actors?
Keep the good work going. Greatness is coming
What is the latest featured movie we should look out for?
Well, I featured in some works that are yet to debut but let’s keep anticipating for the best together
