The food and drug regulatory agency has received three trucks to help it carry out enforcement operations across the country.
The director in charge of investigations and enforcement thanked the agency’s leader for providing the vehicles to strengthen the directorate’s work.
The three trucks, all Mercedes-Benz models, were formally received at the agency’s Lagos office.
They will be used to support regulatory and enforcement work nationwide.
According to the director, the trucks will help the agency respond quickly to enforcement needs, particularly when moving personnel, equipment and products that have been seized from illegal operations.
The agency has been intensifying its enforcement efforts against fake, unwholesome and unregistered products across the country.
Recently, it has been particularly tough on alcoholic drinks sold in sachets and small plastic bottles, raiding shops and outlets where these products are sold.
